Question about exercise and my body??

If i go on my treadmill for 10-15 minutes per day for a month will i lose weight??

Weight: 163

height: 5 7"

age: 13

do you guys know any WORKOUTS that will straighten my back and make me have a nice toned butt

PLEASE don't BE mean!!

  1. Your weight isn't that bad for your height.

    10-15 minutes on a treadmill daily won't do too much.

    For better posture and a toned butt, there is nothing better than free weights. Use full body exercises like squats, deadlifts, presses, bench presses and Olympic lifts like the snatch and the clean and jerk. Check out Mistress Krista's site. She has spent a lot of time researching diet, nutrition and exercise.

    Since you're still young and just starting out, take it easy at first. Above all, perfect your form first.

    Also, work on your diet. A paleolithic style diet is probably ideal, but watch your intake of "white food" like bread, white rice, and sugar.

    Also check out the book "Starting Strength" by Rippetoe and Kilgore.

    Contrary to popular belief, you will not look like a man if you lift weights.  Check out Olympic weightlifter Melanie Roach's page.

    P.S. If your back is crooked, check to see if you have scoliosis before you start lifting heavy weights. If you just have bad posture, weightlifting will improve it.


  2. If you want to strengthen & tone your body, I suggest doing pilates crunch workouts with Ellen Barrett.

    Also for your butt, try doing squats, lunges, standing lunges, side lunges etc.

    Jillian Michaels DVD called 30 day shred is AWESOME for this. they are only 20 minute workouts too, so doing that & spending time on the treadmill would be great for you.

    Just make sure you are also eating right-it won't do you any good to workout & then eat junkfood.

  3. I don't think you need to lose weight, it's already nearly ideal. I think what is better is toning. You're still not done changing yet, so try not to get in too big a hurry. It's when you get around 17 that you're nearly at the peak of growing. The treadmill is a good idea though, just make sure you don't over do it. I use mypyramidtracker.gov to help me out when I'm not quite sure how much I need of what. It will help you to balance your diet and exercise without you burning too many calories. Push-ups are really good for back strengthening. Start by using the wall, and work your way from there. If you dive head first into regular push-ups it will be painful. I know cause I did it, and I was hurting for two weeks before I could do anything else. Try not to worry about it too much, you still have plenty of time to get to where you want to be.

  4. Don't forget muscle weighs more than fat. Don't work out too much.

    it depends on ur diet too, i can run for 1 hour a day and a box of donuts too

    my advice, start with 10-15 minutes, then next week, 20, 25, etc.

    once u lose weight ur butt will become more toned as well as the rest of ur body, u can spot remove fat, its simply there genitically
