Question:

Question about eyeglasses

Today I went for my annual eye check-up and to get new glasses. When it came time to pick glasses it was absolutely horrible. The glasses that they have are completely not my taste. I don't like them. I have to wear these glasses for a whole year and I'm going to high school this year so I wanted to get real cool ones. Then I asked if they could make my old ones again. They're Ray-Ban and they said they didn't make those anymore. So I was pretty upset. Is there any way I could go somewhere else to get glasses? Ray-Ban glasses especially? My mom said that the place is the only one my insurance covers, but we're willing to pay the rest for glasses. Can I transfer places or anything? Ugh, I don't know. Please help.

God Bless.

  1. As long as you have a new prescription, you can go anywhere that you want to look for glasses. A lot of optometrists offices want you to buy what they have because they make a profit. If they gave you a written copy of your prescription take it with you to any eyeglass place that you want to look for frames, and they will fill it.

If you don't have a written copy, call your doctor's office and request one be mailed or faxed to you, or even the place where you are going to buy your glasses can call them and get the new prescrition. If you don't have the written Rx, it would probably be easier just to go by and pick it up if you don't have a fax machine. Buy your glass anywhere that you want!

  2. same problem i had i couldn't find glasses either but them i found some anyways they can't make your glasses but you can keep the same frame and send it to get new lenses. but the thing is you are to be without glasses for a while
