i currently have a high fever and i am shivering and feeling extremely cold on the outside. I know that the body is trying to get its temperature up to fight the infection but i was just wandering whether it would be best to wear more and do something to make myself feel warmer or just leave the cold feeling and let it be.

  1. drink lots of water, talk to a doctor about what to do, take a bath, put heat on, lay in bed, soup, and wear comfortable and warm clothes

  2. wear more clothes...

    move more...to produce temperature...

  3. How high is your fever?  If it is 103 or more, you need to see the doctor.  A fever that high for more than a few days can be dangerous.  If it is not that high, dress to be comfortable, or cover up.  Take tylenol or aspirin for fever and body aches. ...

  4. Take a lukewarm bath (not hot or cold) and stay hydrated by drinking powerade or gatorade.

Just wear light pajamas (t-shirt and shorts) and use a light sheet.

You can also take a Tylenol.

  5. Maybe it would help to put on a little more clothing. That way you reduce the shivering and at the same time when you get warm enough you will reduce your temperature by sweating. Don't forget to drink your paracetamol, tylenol or aspirin and increase fluid intake. Get well soon!
