Question about floyd mayweathers stance where he makes a 90 degree angle (an L)?

yeah when FM Jr. does that stance where he has his right arm straight and his left on the side, why does he do that? and which hand does he punch with when he does that stance?

  1. It's called the "Philly Shell". Basically it's a defenseive stance that he uses to prevent himself from getting hit. By having his left hand down around his waist he can block incoming body punches with his forearms and elbows. And by having his right arm up at a 90 degree angle he can easily catch incoming punches with his gloves or quickly counterpunch with a lead right hand. He also uses the Philly Shell to utilize the "shoulder roll", where he twists his upper body left and right to evade his opponents punches.
