Question about front fork seals for a 1985 Honda Shadow 500cc.?

I've found one for $2300, but the seller says I need to replace the front fork seals. How good of a deal is this including the repair costs, of course. I'm hoping this will be my first bike.

Are you serious? Even in good shape the Kelly Blue Book retail value is $1295. Having the seals replaced will cost at least $150. So no, it's not a good deal.

Next time go to http://www.kbb.com to check the value of any vehicle. You need to scroll down the page for motorcycles.

In fact, print out the value and show it to the seller. Maybe he will adjust his price accordingly.

Hope you find something that's a better value if he won't adjust. The 500 and 600cc Shadows are excellent starter bikes.
