Question about fsa track chainrings?

in the inner perimeter of the chainring there is a little half circle cut out. i'm wondering, does this indicate appropriate position of the chainring on the crank arm? or something else perhaps?

  1. Yep, it lines up and falls under the crank arm...  Just so you don't skew the logo...  Seriously, there is no real reason to clock a single speed chainring, there are no ramp or pins!
