Question about garrys mod?

im confused about stuff u download as add ons to the game...

maps,weapons.....do they all go to the add on folder, or do maps go in the map folder??....

i downloaded dismemberment mod and it didnt work...

Yes, maps go in the maps folder, weapons go in the weapons folder, etc.
