Question about gas grades?

what exactly do they do?

i'm a new driver, and i accidently put in 95 grade instead of 87 like i usually do... is this a problem, would it be stupid to drive my car or mix grades?? HELP ME PLEASE!!

  1. Trust me, you have nothing at all to worry about.  The only thing it has done to you is cost you more.

    one day. He put Diesel in a Gas Car Not Good

  3. this isn't bad at all its just a higher octane of gas the higher the octane the better the gas is that is why it cost more  

  4. grades are not a big deal some cars call for a higher grade becouse they run at higher rpm with a turbo or supercharger. just stay away from the green pump

  6. Higher octane gas actually contains more additives the DON'T burn than regular. Don't worry about it.

  7. probably it wont smoke or catch fire depending on how much unburnt fuel it's sending through your exhaust. A higher octane is for high performance engine. if your dad knows anything about the effect of a higher octane on emissions, than he probably will, don't worry he'll understand that you didn't know.
