Question about getting a part replaced on my car?

I have a 2000 Honda Accord with 77,000 miles. The EGR valve needs to be replaced it has a warranty on it which is still good. My question is when I take it to the dealer to get it replaced will I be charged for anything or will I get everything done for free since the warranty is still good on it? And this may sound stupid but I've never taken my car to the dealer for anything what should I do? Do I call and make an appointment? Should I stay there and wait while they replace the part? Or will they give me a vehicle so that I can go back home if its going to take along time?

  1. A 2000 honda? Is it a warranty or a recall? In with the owners Manuel is a credit card looking devise that has the vehicle ID number on it. Take it and the car to the dealer and have them make sure it is ether a recall or warranty item. And at that time they should be able to answer your questions. Good luck.

  2. If its under warranty you should be able to take it to the dealer for free of charge. Now for them giving you a vehicle i dont know about that. Im not sure how long it takes to replace that but you might want to have someone follow you than have them call you when its done.

  3. if the warranty is just on the part, they will charge you for the labor.
