  1. First, she should call the dentist who pulled the teeth to tell him/her about the bleeding. Dentists who do extractions expect to be called if there is a problem after the teeth are pulled. In the meantime, cold packs on her jaw and damp tea bags (like Lipton tea bags) on the site of the extractions will help stop the bleeding.

She does need to let the dentist know about the bleeding, because after 3-1/2 hours clots should have formed and bleeding should have stopped.

  2. She should be sure to not suck on anything, even her own tongue.  No straws, no pops - nothing that causes to make a sucking motion.  She should refrain from that for at least 48 hours after the teeth were removed.

Also, the dentist should have given her some of the dental cotton (those long narrow cotton tubes) to bite down on - which keeps pressure on the new holes.  The cotton should be changed when they are full of blood and saliva.

If, after 24 hours, they are still bleeding profusely, she needs to call her dentist and perhaps get herself back there.  But my guess is she hasn't kept the cottom in long enough and is maybe making sucking motions in her mouth.

    Best of luck to her.
