Question about golf announcers.?

Do you like Gary Koch? I hate him. Discuss.

Why do you "hate" Gary?  Did he do something horrible to you or your family?

Personally, I like Gary very much, as an announcer.  He is classy, intelligent, understated, knowledgeable and doesn't go out of his way to draw attention to himself.

I find him interesting as a TV golf commentator; he knows his stuff and he does a lot of homework too on course as well as player profiles. He may sound serious at times, but he does his job very well. To me he is both a professional and a nice fella. Gary Koch had an illustrious NCAA career at Florida, followed by 15 years as a pro golfer.... add that to his course desingning, and promotion of the game and I can see why he was courted as an announcer. He has all the knowledge of the game, the techniques and the courses.

BUT, it is not my job to hire and fire announcers. I don't like his on-air presence. I prefer Nick Faldo, or Ian Baker-Finch, both foreigners who PROMOTE the USPGA.

I don't hate his work, nor Gary Koch....but I think there are better out there.
