Question about growing tomatoes.

Question

I'm growing my first ever garden, and have TONS of green tomatoes on my plants. I've had THREE go red on me, and they suddenly had holes in them and were ROTTEN inside? What is going on? How do I stop this? I have 10-7 dust... it does not mention that it's safe to use on tomatoes tho. (Or my peppers either!) However, I've been told it's okay to use it, as long as you wash the tomatoes really well before you eat them. Is that cool, or is that b.s.?

Never heard of 10-7 dust but feel it must be about the same as Sevin Dust. I use this all the time and just wash veggies before eating.
