  1. A friend of mine tore his acl at a summer kicking camp we both went too.

The trainer told him to slowly stretch it out after the cut closed. Like put more and more strain on it. It was 4 months after he got his acl stitched and the cut closed he could finally punt full strength again.

If you strain it too much you could risk opening it, causing infection, leaving a scar, or causing massive trauma to the area.

  2. You might be able to force it open, but it would hurt and it would leave an unsightly scar. Plus, you might get it infected, then they might have to cut you open again.

  3. Listen to your doctor they should tell when and how much you can strain the injury. If the stitches are to be removed leave them alone until that time. Follow any restrictions they gave you to your normal activity and just continue on as normal otherwise. But don't push an injury too much your body will let you know how much and what to do. I've had five incidents requiring stitches of some sort most to cover up repairs to other injuries so you learn to wait a bit and work with or around them.
