I am almost 20 weeks pregnant. I have a heart-shaped uterus which means my baby can only use half of my uterus. =[ My Dr. told me most women with heart-shaped uterus' have their babies early and most likely need a c-section. My question is: Any one else have a heart-shaped uterus and early labor? c-sections? or does anyone know anyone with this?

  1. my friend had the same thing and was able to gave birth to her daughter vaginally. her baby girl is healthy now, but she was born two months early, and was 4 pounds.   starting at 24 weeks my friend got steroid injections to help with lung development, since her baby had to be premature.  and her baby had to stay in the hospital for a month or two, but she is 4 months and very healthy now.  try not to stress out about it to much, as that wont do anything good.  I'm sure you baby will be just fine, your doctor will know what is best for you (since every pregnancy and every mother is different)

congrats on the pregnancy and best wishes for you and your new baby.

  2. yes my friend has a heart shaped uterus and she carried her little girl till she was 38 weeks. and delivered her completely natural. she was about 6lbs.

  3. i have the same problem i have a bicornial uteurus which is a heart shape uterus i had a few miscarriages before then i had a baby boy at 20weeks back in 7-04-07 and well right now im 37 weeks preg. and depending on how far the middle part goes down it will see if u have room for the baby to drop my little girl has not dropped and im having a csection friday. but with this they say each preg ur uterus will be able to stretch more and more.. good luck and best of wishes

  4. I never heard of that but I would look up some info on the net or get a book at the libray but if you do get a c-section just be prepared to have some pain but you will get through it I did twice. It isn't fun but if you do things slowly and don't let nurses or anyone else tell you how fast you should be moving you will be okay. I wish you the best think positive and keep yourself informed and it all work out
