i got one and waited the time and peeled it off and it was a very faint grey. I did however have sunblock on the area where the henna was put on. will that effect it? becuase it said its normal for it to be light at first and will be darkest in 12-24 hours. help!

  1. ummmm berries berries and cream

  2. It can take up to three days for your henna color to peak out.

I am not sure about the sunblock, but my guess is that it was not the best idea to have it on there before applying it.  Why?  Becasue dry, thick, tougher skin grabs color more readily than soft skin.  Plus the block puts a filmy barrier between your skin and the henna and that might inhibit the colors penetration into your skin.

How long did you let the paste mix before you put it onand how long did you leave it on before removing it?  Those two things can have an effect on the depth of color.  You can also add sugar to the paste to make it penetrate more.  Was it the correct consistency?  Like toothpaste?

Next time, let the paste sit overnight (mix it before you go to sleep) get up and shower, making sure to get the soap all off.  wash the area with some bottled water if you have lots of chlorine in the water from the tap.  Apply the paste and let it sit.  Put some heat or steam on it to give you more depth of color.  The longer you leave it on, the deeper the color.

    Good luck!

  3. if it was grey, it was not henna. that was the dangerous fake black stuff.

    Here is more on that.http://www.hennacaravan.com/forums/viewt...

YOu should only buy safe red/brown henna, I get mine here.http://www.hennacaravan.com/hennakits.ht...

be safe don't use fake henna

  4. if u r old enough, just go get a real tattoo. they dont hurt that much...i have multiple tattoos, so i know this first hand.

  5. Yeah, the sunblock is the reason the color didn't come out well. The skin should be clean when you apply henna and not have any kind of lotion, sunblock etc. on it.

  6. it would affect it unless your sun block hasnt dried yet

  7. just put some olive oil on the henna design and it should darken a little more

  8. could you describe the question a little better, I don't get it.

  9. Yes sunblock may cause the greyness. Usually when I get henna tattoos, I leave them on more than they are said to, it gets darker as time passes.
