Hey there, so I have a high efficiency washer, I am going to clean my saddle pads today, I normally use tide that is meant for the HE washer, but I don't know if I should, because I think it will irritate my horses skin, is there any other products out there that aren't dyed or have fragrances? Or can I just use a normal detergent?

  1. Use Dreft for babies, baby shampoo, Woolite, Oxyclean (be sure to rinse well), or maybe the horse's shampoo!

  2. do NOT use normal detergent (too many bubbles = big mess for you).  You can get Tide Free HE (no dye or fragrance) if you are worried about irritating your horses skin, another option is to use the detergent you already have and then run the pads through a 2nd cycle with water only.
