why are they loose around my waist, tight around my knees and thighs?

I'm about 5'5 and i wear a size 3 or 5.

its different for everyone, and is based on how your body is shaped

I am about the same size as you, but I never tried on Hollister Jeans, your hips could be smaller or your thighs could just be larger.

i have the same problem. It sucks, but I just wear a belt or get them tailored if it looks weird.
