In order to hook up my wii to my Bose surround sound can I use the standard AV cables sent with the wii or do I need to buy the component cable?

  1. I don't think that you can, but if you can, you would just need the Sound Cables. But I didn't think that Wii did Surround Sound, because it doesn't do High Definition.

  2. Just use the ones you have. Component cables will only effect the video. If you want better video and your tv has component hookups, get component. However, the audio cables that come with component cables are the same as the ones that come with the Wii (red/white).

The Wii doesn't have 5.1 capabilities but it will transmit "Dolby Pro Logic II" which you will need to select in your console's audio settings.
