Question about how arcade style pool tables work...?

maybe this is a stupid question but when you are playing a game of pool and you accidentally hit the white ball in the pocket how does the game know it's not solids or stripes?It always spilts the white ball back out.Thanks in advance!!

The cue ball is smaller than the other balls so it gives it back

the cue ball is a different size or weight than the rest of the balls which is why it comes back.  so if you say pocket the 8 ball and you can't finish the game u won't get it back no matter what its just the cue ball.  If your playing on a new diamond table then there is a sensor in the cue ball so it weighs exactly the same as the rest of the balls.
