Question:

Question about how to get my website on search engines?

I understand that metatags and keywords are no longer good enough. It is my understanding that I need to submit my site to a review website, take a survey, and get my site rated and then enter the result code into my html. Is that all? Or do I also need to submit the web address to the individual search engines?

  1. type in free web search submissions. Hope this helps.

  2. look on google

  3. You need to get lots of links to your site and the best way to do that is with social media sites.

I'd spend some time on forums like

    http://www.webworkshop.net

    http://www.webproworld.com

Studying social media sites. And I'd spend a lot of time writing articles and adding pages to my site.

  4. Search engines will eventually find your web site by way of other sites. The best way to get noticed by Google is to use their webmaster tools. Include a google site map on your site and perhaps join a few web directories to start. Once you have a few links pointing to your site, its a matter a few weeks before you get indexed.

  5. Meta tags (title and description) ARE important and will be used to calculate your content score. Always include these with each webpage or post.

As was mentioned in another answer, your site will be spidered eventually. But the trick is doing it quickly, which I'm assuming you're trying to do.

You have a few options. You can submit your site(s) directly to the search engines:

    http://www.google.com/addurl/

    http://beta.search.msn.com/docs/submit.a...

    https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/su...

Your next step is to write articles and press releases. You'll find by doing this, you'll get spidered in a hurry, then subsequently indexed. This generally takes less than 2 weeks. The more activity and content you generate, the faster you'll be indexed.

As for "review website", taking surveys, or rating sites... whoever told you that doesn't know the first thing about SEO.

Other suggestions are to do link exchanges, social bookmarking, story submissions, etc. Also, if you're not blogging, then you're way behind your competiton.

If you're looking to get spidered, indexed, and ranking high in the search engines within 48 hours...  Well, that is a very specialized skill and you're gonna have to visit my blog for that.
