If a white family moved to a place with LOTS of sun and had babies and started a family their, would the family start becoming darker and darker over the generations until they were black or brown?

  1. There would need to be selection pressure.  If some of the white people died of skin cancer or couldn't spend enough time outside to feed themselves, then yes.  It would take more than just the sun because whites can just avoid the sun after a certain point and go to the grocery store.


  2. This evolutionary change might happen if the negative consequences of too much sunlight reduced the probability of viable offspring.  There in nothing in evolution that would require it to happen.
