Question about ignition coil

i have a 1986 nissan 200sx turbo . i am getting no fire . . getting power out one end of coils . but not out the end that goes to the distributor . i just bought one new coil . didnt buy both but both are reading same thing power going in but not out . why

  1. Take it to the auto parts store and see if they can test it.


  2. There are two things to look at,

    1. check the contact point gap, at least 3mm, when you turn the cam lobe of the distributor shaft at the highest peak part.

    2. check the contact point for short circuit.

    *Note* Power supply are ok and coil is ok

  3. Did you crank the engine and  you noticed no spark?
