Question:

Question about illegitimate child?

by  |  earlier

say a child was born before the parents were married, but then the parents married like a year later.

is that child considered "born out of wedlock"? or he/she was just "born before the parents were married" and that's all.

the parents didn't necessarily get married with the sole purpose of making the child "not a bast*rd" (for lack of better words, sorry), they just got married and had a kid out of the traditional order.

please tell me if i need to add more details.

thanks!!

  1. I thing the terms out of wedlock were used long ago and not any longer.

    I had a child before I was married .

I married his dad when he was 6 months old. we were still his parenst. He's never been called a b*****d, except maybe by his wife in an argument, not b/c his parenst weren't married at the time.

    No labels, my dear.

  2. First off, there is no such thing as an illegitimate child... baby's are just surprises, not mistakes. Using that term makes it come across as a mistake.

She/he was just born after the parents married. And really, it shouldn't matter when and if parents marry. What does count though is if both parents are in that child's life.
