Question about immigrants and colleges in California....?

Can an immigrant with an alien id number, who was paroled in legally into this country,( I did not enter this country illegally), but with an expired green card (that I am currently renewing) apply and be granted access to attend a California university/college other than a community college?

Since you are here legally and you got a Green Card you should be able to get into a University. However I would suggest renewing it and making sure that the Green Card is valid since as of this moment it is expired - No idea why you did not take initiative to renew it early.

Otherwise without that legal permanent residency proof you will be considered an International Student and will need to get an I-20 and pay international fees.

Also since you will not have lived in California for more than 2 years - you will be paying out of state fees.
