I was wondering why teenage guys usually pay more for car insurance than teenage girls, why is this the case? is it fair?

  1. Its absolutely fair. Males are statistically much more reckless drivers. The alternative would be the insurance companies blended their rates and made them unisex. Then females would all pay more than they should and that isn't really fair or equitable in itself.


  2. Simply because male teenagers are more aggressive drivers than female one which mean they are more prone to accidents...

Insurance rates are based on the risk assumed by the insurance companies to provide the coverage to that group.  Since, statistically, teenage boys are more likely to have a wreck they have to pay more.  Same thing with house insurance.  People in hurricane prone areas will have to pay more for house insurance than someone who lives in an area where natural risks to a home are less.  Its all a matter of statistics.
