Question about internet connections?

Are there any types of internet services that do not require a home phone line? If so please give me the info and company name that offers it. I am looking to get internet on my home, desk top computer but we currently do not have a home phone.

  1. I don't know about your country. Even in an Asian country like I'm residing currently has got some mobile broadband connections. Maybe, you can check for mobile operators that provide broadband connection like we got here. They will give you a modem or you can connect to the internet in your computer using a 3G device and you can connect to it everywhere on your laptop, even on your desktop at your home. No phone line is needed.

    By the way, even a DSL connection requires a fixed phone line.

  3. the only type of internet connection that requires a phone line is dial-up, but this type of connection is extremely outdated and slow anyways; get DSL from AT&T or Uverse, if you live in remote areas you can get HughesNet satellite internet
