  1. The 2.0 software update is $10, so they might be willing to do that for you, but they'll probably charge you for it (and maybe an installation fee on top of that).  I can guarantee Apple will NOT jailbreak it as it voids your warranty and can seriously s***w up your iPod.

All the apps you could ever want and need and more are on iTunes--just go ahead and download it from the Apple website and play around with the software--you'll be able to go ahead and browse what's called the App Store (which contains all the games, etc.) and you can even go ahead and download what you want (just make sure it says it will work on the Touch and not just the Phone (not too many apps that won't work on both other than ones that take voice notes and the like (since the Touch doesn't have a mic)).

  2. Refurbished is a good deal. Apple DEFINITLEY WILL NOT JailBreak it for you since it voids your warranty. Why would you want to JailBreak a Touch though? The point of that is to put more games/utilities on it.

The iPhone 2.0 Software for iPod Touch is $9.95 plus tax. We won't add stuff for you. We will show you how to so you can do it on your own. For the iPod Touch, you need iTunes 7.7 to download it and put it on. After that you can use Wi-Fi to connect to the AppStore or use iTunes to download a lot of free games/utilities.

  3. As of now, jailbreaking is a strictly 3rd party process, which means that Apple will not do it. Currently there are several un-stable jailbreaking processes for firmware 2.0, however they are complicated. There are many apps on the app store for free and for little amounts of money that are just as good as a jailbroken device's Installer.app. So in conclusion, Apple will not jailbreak any iPod or iPhone at all. Hope this helps!!
