Question about ireland??

Ok, so I'm doing a report on Ireland since I'm Irish. I can't find a few things that I need.

What famous people came from or live in Ireland? It doesn't matter if it's past or present.

What should I write about Ireland that has to do with "arts"?

What about science in Ireland?

And last, sports?

Some Ireland news would be helpful too.

at lot of stuff on arts such as writers can be found on Google, main person to look for would be W.B. Yeats or Oscar Wilde.

Intersting fact, St Columbs college in Derry, is the only school in Europe (maybe even the world) that has has 2 Nobel Laureates (Seamus heaney for literature & John Hume for Peace). Both are still alive.

As for Science, there are quite a number of Pharmaceutical companies, but majority are subsidiaries of American companies such as Boston Scientiic

James Joyce(book ulysees and finnegeans wake), Patrick Kavangh(poet), Oscar Wilde and W.B Yeats.

Also poetry in irish....Máirtín Ó Direáin , Seán Ó Ríordáin two of the more important 19th century poets

Pharmacutical companies play a big part in science here wyeth,phifer who both employ thousands of people

And last, sports?

Hurling and Gaelic Football most important of the nations sports.

The All Ireland Hurling Final this year was won by Kilkenny who played Limerick in the final in Croke Park

The All Ireland Gaelic Football Final is on this Sunday. Kerry and Cork are playing.

Horse racing is big here especially in County Kildare where a majority of the stud farms are.

Soccer our team didnt qualify for the European Championships and we are in Group D(Group of Death) of the Rubgy World Cup

'Arts' part is easy - Google Irish writers. You'll find James Joyce, Oscar Wilde & on & on. As for sports, check out Formula 1's team Jordan, also Derik Dailey. Look into Hurling as well, a very popular Irish sport. Horse racing is HUGE too! Good luck.
