Question about jeep wipers

i have an issue with my 99 wranlger. it is a 4.0 inline 6, and the wipers work when they want to. i can flip the switch, and nothing happens, or it comes up slow and shaky. my question is this the relays, or is it the motor? i am pretty sure it is not the switch itself, as nothing on it has changed, no different noises,no stiffness, nothing. let me know what you think

  1. try using a jumper wire from the negative battery post directly to the wiper motor housing.scrape a clean spot on both and use vise-grip pliers to hold jumper wire in place, then see if they work normally.if they do,you need to re-ground the motor by either adding another ground to the motor,or remove the motor and clean the areas where the motor mounts to the viehicle to re-ground the motor.otherwise you may need a new wiper motor,if so makesure to clean mounting points or you may expierence the same issue.

  2. sounds like motor issues
