Question:

Question about knee pains...?

I recently got a paper route and the papers add quite a bit of weight to my body while I'm riding. I rode and still ride all the time before I got the route, and even during the day when I'm done, I have to sit down more than I'm used to or else the papers swing around, and I think it's starting to have an effect on my knee. I never got this pain before while riding, so is this just a normal thing to expect until my body gets used to it, or is it something else?

  1. When there is pain in the body or something is not right, the brain will send out chemicals, 'signals so to speak,' that let you know that something is not right. Perhaps the weight of the papers are putting to much strain on your muscles or joints. If it hurts or is sore, figure out another way to carry the papers or find another job that won't put so much strain on your body.

  2. Your putting too much torque on your knees. Check your seat height. Your knee should be just a little lower than horizontal when at the top of the pedal stroke. If your tall many bikes cannot adjust to this height like problem I have, I need to buy a more expensive bike and there hard to find for one over 6'3. Good luck and my Christ bless you with all his love and care.
