is there a difference to learning acoustic guitar and learning electric guitar

  1. When you first start, there is no difference. When getting into more advanced stuff, there is. If you want to be an overall guitar expert, you should start with acoustic, and then switch to electric once you get good at acoustic. If you do it that way, you will also find electric much easier when you first get on it. But if you're looking to go in to one particular style, like rock, then you might want to just start on the electric.


  2. Not for a beginner.

    At that stage you're learning what the strings, frets and notes are.

    So it's all the same thing.

    But you should get the type you think you're going to stick with.
