This is based on an episode on a tv show, i was just curious.

What is the scenario when a guy's wife dies by suicide/murder, and the guy receive millions of dollars because of her death.

What is that? Life insurance? Or what? Give any legal situation or scenario that includes a person's wife/husband dies and the other gets a big amount of money.

Btw, i know that these are awkward questions to ask. Im just interested on these sorts of things.

  1. Well, sure, that would be life insurance.

But, suicide isn't covered, the first two years, and sometimes not at all.  And, if he is a suspect in her murder, he can't get the money, either, until/unless he's cleared.

Spouses die all the time, and IF there is life insurance in place, the surviving spouse most often is beneficiary.

  2. Get answer from the insurance agent. Absolutely correct.  Anyone can not benefit from a crime.
