Are shocks and springs the only two things I need when lowering a car? I'd like to lower it about 1.5".

I will have this done professionally. Can you please recommend good brands as well.

The car is a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse GTS.

  1. yup you will only need shocks and springs or you can do it without doing any work and get a bunch of really big people in your back seat (just kidding) you only need thoose 2 things

  2. Pete, Don't do it! Lowering springs have very high spring rates per inch of spring travel. The car will bounce around like an old 3/4 ton unloaded truck. You must also replace the struts with ones with very stiff valving (KYB) to reduce the double and triple bouncing you'll be getting. You will need to have the car four wheel aligned and hope to he*l you don't have to have strut plates installed to get it back within alignment specifications.

I can feel it already. You're a young guy who wants to look cool in your ride. I will guaranty this, it'll be the last time you'll ever pull this off.

  3. We did a Mitsubishi with eibach springs and adjustable KYB gas struts...2 inches i believe...toped if off with motegi dp 7 wheels looked awesome...make sure you have the car aligned as well.

  4. I think that is the only thing you would need but i would ask the person installing it just to be sure. But try Eibach for a brand they are pretty good.

  5. the best thing is you can change your standard shocks and springs to adjustable type and the best adjustable brand is from cusco. it also can improve your way of driving.
