Question about moving a large pool table.?

I have to move my pool table to make room. I know that it contains slate, so are there any precautions I have to take when I move it to keep it from getting damaged?

  1. how did you truck it? Did you build some sort of "A" to keep it up right?  I'm in the same boat, I half to move a 7 foot 3 piece slate table (idk how thick the slate is) but I know its going to be HEAVY.   I was wondering how to go about loading it into my truck.  Thanks
