how come the neck closest to the player has 12 tuning pegs instead of 6 on a multinecked guitar?

  1. 12 string guitars are a little harder to tune than a six string - I can tune a six string with my eyes closed, but with the 12 string you need to see the tuning keys, so that's probably why the 12 string's on top.


  2. It's the 12 string half. These guitars have the strings in 6 pairs and gives them a fuller, richer sound.

  3. This is just a guess, but it's a bit more comfortable to play the bottom neck. Since six-string guitars are more commonly played than twelve-string guitars, it makes sense to put it in the more comfortable position.
