Sometimes when my son pees his urine stream will split. Is this normal? (he also has a very thin stream byut my husband says it just b/c he is little)

At first my husband thought it was fine, but yesterday he was peeing in the potty but one small stream was going straight out sideways, I am afraid something is wrong or theres an infection or something. He has a Dr's appt Thurs, just wondering if anyone else knows anything about this.

  2. This is normal. Many things can cause this but they're all normal and nothing to worry about. It happens to probably every man during his life numerous times and is a result of either the p***s staying in an awkward position for a period of time (like while sleeping), or even when having an erection (during the erection or after). It all depends. I'm not saying that these things are a cause 100% of the time or that he couldn't have a problem but most likely it is nothing.

  3. I don't think there is anything wrong. But for peace of mind, just ask the Dr.

  4. Probably nothing to worry about, usually lint on the tip of the p***s will cause a split stream,  if it isn't always split I wouldn't worry.  Don't be afraid to ask the doctor on Thursday, but I am pretty sure this is normal.

  5. I believe this is a normal experience, and is nothing to worry about.  If he is having difficulty, blood, or pain when urinating then this is a problem, but i do not believe that the stream moving in 2 different directions is an indication of anything wrong.
