Question about my Acura?

I just bought a 2003 Acura TL 3.2 Type-S. What does type-s mean? Is that good or bad? Whats the difference between the TL type-s and the regular one?

dude the type s is the more luxury and high performance. its way better in looks and performance then the regular one.

It has more power, a sportier suspension, different wheels, and more features than the base TL.

the s stands for sport and of course its a good thing. its just faster than the regular one and it has more features

I owned  a TL S type, S stands for sport as others have stated. I had a BMW M3 prior to the Acura and the Acura was very impressive. Don't waste money on a navigation system unless you travel out of state alot. Most people that wasted money on those GPS units have them in the cars off the majority of the time. i guess in all my years of driving locally, i never got that lost that it needed a GPS unit to help me get around.

I have an '03 3.2TL too, but mine's not Type S.  But, before buying the car I did ask what the difference was and in that model and year, the only difference is that the Type S has a navigation system, and about a 40 horsepower engine stronger than mine.

I think the "S" stand's for sport... I know the "S" Is a good thing! G'Job!

Type-S means that it has slight sport and luxury upgrades, like a better suspension setup, better speakers, and a higher output motor.

s is just the USDM version of a lower type r back in japan. before honda badged all their sport cars as type r. but since they wanted to keep the integrity of their type r labels they opened up type-s so that way the type r's were an elite brand for circuit racing and not just for commercial sales. the type s however is still powerful than base models as they come with a better engine, slight luxury upgrades and some downgrades (such as weight reduction so you probably didnt get a nav or something) but the type s is meant for high performance, if you were going to tune your car. 2003 tl's didnt come with nav in fact most cars didnt have it fully until 2005. if you have nav then just get an iphone or something
