Question about my Car sound system?

I just bought an amp and a sub for my car. I am planning on going to walmart and buying an amp cable kit. When i contacted the man at quality autosound, he said getting a cable kit at walmart will not guarantee optimum sound quality from my subs. Was he really being serious or was he just saying that so i bought a cable kit from him?

walmart is cheap. if you want it done right then go to a place that specializes in it

well depends on how big your amp is if its no more then 500 watt i wouldn't worry because wal mart sales i think a 8 gage wire but i have 2 amps with 2000 watts a each i use 4 gage wire.

but my last subs i had wal mart 8 gage and it worked fine.
