Question about my Chinese zodiac?

Well, i was born in 1995, and i know, that's the year of the pig... But, i was born in January and the Chinese zodiac festival starts in February right? I was born on January 31, 1995 to be exact. So um, would that mean that i take the zodiac of the previous year, 1994, the dog since the Chinese zodiac festival for the pig starts in February...when i was born in January?

Basically, what am i?! So confused...

The chinese zodiac is boring and goes by year, ew. But you are whatever the last year was since you were born before the chinese new year.

nope. you would still be year of the pig.

i was born a few days before chinese new year began, but im still year of the dog, and in our tradition that seems to be how it is. i go to an international school in china and everyone there seems to just go by the actual year they were born. for example i knew quite a lot of people that were born from january 3rd to february 1st, and they still are year of the dog..
