Question about my Comcast DVR?

I've had my Comcast DVR for a while, and a problem that I have noticed is that while it sometimes works alright, there are other times when it messes up. For instance, I set up a few programs to record, along with a few movies (but never two at a time). It will start to record them but it will just randomly only record 23 minutes or so. It's pretty frustrating because I don't want to watch 47 minutes of Gridiron Gang or 19 minutes of Celebrity Rehab.

Does anyone know what's going on?

(I just swapped DVR box at Comcast on Thursday due to the skipping problem so my box is new.)

  1. I don't know if this will solve your problem, but I was having problems with my box too...mostly with the OnDemand programming.  Come to find out that my cable was going through my surge protector...and this was causing the problem.  I hooked it up direct to the box from the wall and now it works fine.  

    Otherwise, I would think it stops recording only if there's a powerloss.
