I am a 28 year old male, been lifting weights regularly for the past year. i have just recently started cardio exercise. My resting heart rate is 54. when i get my heart up to 120 very quickly like with 2 minutes of jumping jacks, it goes back to 65 Bpm within 1 minute. Immediately after stopping jumping jacks my heart rate is 120. 1 minute later it is 70 then 1 minute after that it is at 65. what i'm saying is that it goes back down very fast. is this a bad thing?

  1. That is not a problem. I say worry if you can't get your heart rate up with strenuous activities or it does not slow down. Then that is when you have a problem. But if you are really worried then go make an appointment with your doctor or a cardiologist and have them perform a test to evaluate how the heart functions under stressful conditions.

  2. No this is a very good result. You have a healthy heart which returns to normal spontaneously. Congrats.
