Question about my Sony HandyCam?

I filmed a video but how do i get it onto a DVD...I have already bought the DVD+R dvd's i just need to figure out how to get the video from my handycam to the dvd's.

  1. If it is a miniDV tape based camcorder and you are using USB to transfer the video, that's not gonna happen. You need to use the firewire400 (IEEE1304a, i.Link - all the same thing) port on your computer with a firewire cable connected to the DV port of the camcorder - USB won't work.

    If it is a hard drive or flash memory camcorder, you need to get current drivers.

    If it is a DVD camcorder, don't use the camcorder for transfer - put the miniDVD in the DVD port in your compiter and rip the video with Handbrake

    If it is some other camcorder, you need to tell us more detail - about the camcorder and the computer.

    If you aren't editing, then you can go direct to DVD with a DVD recorder like http://shop2.outpost.com/product/5199956...

    It would be best if your camcorder uses a DV port (miniDV tape - firewire, not USB) - for this recorder, you will need a 4-pin to 4-pin firewire cable. There is no USB port.
