Question about my cavity

I found out I had a hole in one of my molars in the middle of July. Then today I found out the hole turned into a blackish-brownish color. It looks like a minor cavity. How long will it take to turn into a serious cavity that have pain and reach deeper into my tooth?

I can't go to the dentist until October 13, for my deep cleaning. Is that too long to wait for them to take a look at my cavity and to fix it?

The blackish brown colour is decay, you need to visit the dentist asap.
