I'm going to college in a month and i am focusing my major in computer programming. I want to start a website. Since its my major can i get extra help from the professors if i don't understand something. And also can i stay after to talk to the professors about how to do something. And during class if i have a question can i ask it or do i just have to listen what he or she says like in high school.

  1. Good faculty want you to learn, so yes, they should be open to your questions both outside of and during class. But you'll benefit more if you really try to work through the material and then approach faculty by explaining what you do understand and where you get confused. Faculty are much more receptive to that than to students who seem to want everything done for them without making any effort themselves.

If your faculty aren't willing to help you outside of class, either right after class, or by appointment, you may want to consider a different school.
