Question about my contact lenses?

i am using contacts since i was i was 20. i have astigmatism and im near sighted(can t see far) , my astigmatism is 1.00

near sighted is nearly 5. = /

i been using toric lenses for 2 years now. and lately my eyes started to burn and having stinging feeling. and a little pain. i went to opticians ,she said lenses did not do any good to my eyes at all. my left eye doesnt function properly , she said some of the cells in my left eye very swollen. and its because my lenses was not breathable lenses. so i got the new better toric lenses now. breathable. my question is what did she mean my left eye dont function properly. ? and my eyes still hurts sometimes. its like my eyeballs stinging. and they are tender and very dry all the time. am i going blind or something!? =( sorry for my english )

maybe u can try the purevision toric or o2 optix toric. Both are great lenses

There are lots of different things that can go wrong with your eyes - you really need to ask the optician what they meant.

Use moisture, re-wetting drops to moisten your lenses. The problems you describe are why I switched to soft lenses. Your eyes need to "breathe."  Go to a doctor that will explain the condition to you and prescribe you different lenses. I'd take those lenses out right away and don't wear them.

(I'm -8.0 in contacts)  Also you might have allergies and that's making your eyes burn. But anytime you have pain, get the lenses OUT.

Did you see an optician or an Optometrist? The optometrist (Dr) is the one who can tell if your eyes are functioning properly by doing an exam. If your left eye isnt functioning properly than maybe you need a new rx for your lenses or you may want to ask the Dr about trying a different type of lenses. there are many types of contacts out there and the Dr is the best person to ask which is best for you. the optician wants to sell you the better pair because they make money on the most epensive ones.
