Ok. The contacts I am using are acuvue, which would last me about 2 weeks to wear. But my question is, can I alternate the days I wear my contacts and glasses so I can preserve my contacts, or is it just a 2 week thing were, once I use it, I have to use it for the 2 weeks fully? And how long should I wear my contacts throughout the day, because every time I take them out, my eyes get red. please help.

  1. You can swicth back and forth but personally that gives me headaches, which I am prone to anyhow. Your contacts are safely stored for quite some time in the solution if you choose to do that. It is 2 weeks of wear, not just 2 weeks from when you open them.

  2. It's two weeks of wear, so if you alternate every other day, you can keep your contacts for a month. If your eyes are red, check what kid of solution you are using, you may have an allergy to something in the solution. Which kind of Acuvue are you using? Advance, Oasys, Acuvue 2? You many want to try a different brand of lenses. Some people are more sensitive to the different brands of contacts, call you Dr. , they can help. Red eyes after you wear your contacts is not normal unless you just got them and it takes you 15 minutes of poking yourself in the eye to get them in or out.

  3. Not exactly what you asked, but if you want to alternate between contact lens and eyeglasses, I would recommend getting one-day contact lens. They are healthier for your eyes, and it makes the alternating easier. One drawback is that they are substantially more expensive. And, well, they may not come in the base curve that fits your eyes well. If you are interested, consult your eye doctor.
