Question about my dog and his bladder?

Okay so I have a little chihuahua mix who is only 17 months.

He pees whenever we go for a walk which is always 6 hours apart.

With his pooping however, he only poops 6+ hours after eating.

Seeing as how he's small he should be ready to p**p after 15 minutes of eating, but he doesn't. I was wondering if anyone could help me on this.

This is a problem because I need to feed him before I put him in the crate but since it takes him so long to p**p, I don't know how this will work...

Take him for a long walk take him in the morning when you get up, then at lunch time, then again around 3 oclock and then at 6 and agian at 9 that whay he won't hold it in of it your worried take him to the vet and get something that will make him poo

dogs are like people in respect to the p**p frequency.  some people p**p once a day and some multiple times a day.  some dogs only p**p once a day and some more than that.  i had a small dog that was a once a day pooper and my current small dogs are multiple times a day poopers.

The poor wee fella is "holding it in" to save him soiling his crate.

What did you do when he did p**p while out on a walk when he was younger? Chances are you ended the walk and returned home so he has learned now that doing a poo heralds the end of his walk so he now stubbornly holds it in.

Because he is so small it would be wise for you to split his daily feed into two smaller portions and feed him evening and night and remember to really praise him when he performs and continue on our walk for a few more minutes after wards, also when he does p**p use a trigger word so that he begins to associate this word with pooping (don't use a word you use a lot to prevent him performing at the wrong time if he hears the word!) and you will soon be able to have him p**p on command and make his day and yours much more comfortable
