  1. Since none of us can actually see the line that was pre-spooled on your reel, it's best to assume that the maximum # test was used, in your case 8 # test line. Your set up is pre-matched by the factory to what they feel is best for the user. There is no need to buy another reel filled with line when all you have to do is remove the line from the reel you have now and replace it with another. You can buy a stronger reel which holds more line but you risk mix matching the system you have now if they are not more or less about the same size. The line you have on your reel is okay for just about every species but this is only true according to how skilled you are when fighting a fish. You may want to strip the line off that reel and replace it with a braided line like Spider wire. You can go to a lesser #test diameter like 2# test diameter but in reality have 10 pound test strength line. Your reel will now have 250 yards of 10 pound test line in braid instead of 100 yards of 8 pound test monofilament.....get it? You can now cast farther, use smaller baits and play the fish when it runs farther without getting all the line taken from your reel by the fish. With braided line you can fish for everything including carp without much worry of how skilled you are. The only problem you may encounter is if the reel was made well enough to crank in larger fish without burning out during the longer runs. just remember to keep the drag set at 1/3 the line strength, never try to haul up the fish by the rod itself and always keep your gear in working order. ~good luck catchin'.

  2. Stop asking a million Q's! You can buy new line! take off old line put on the new. 20lb. test is great for every need.

  3. Like I said in your other post, it's likely that you have 6 or 8 lb line prespooled on your reel. It will be fine for catching those fish.

You do not have to buy a whole new reel to put stonger line on it, you can just remove the line and respool it. That reel can only handle 4-8lb line though, so if you want stonger line, you'll have to get a larger reel. For those fish though, I wouldn't suggest it. Anything any heavier, and you wouldn't be able to feel their bites. Just set your drag right and you should be find with what you have.

If you start having trouble with your line breaking, then switch to 8lb braided line (just don't forget you have to have a mono backing on the reel so the braided doesn't slip) and you won't have that problem anymore. You should be fine with the mono that is prespooled for now though.

    I hope this helps.

  4. You usually have to guess by studying the thickness of it.

Yes, you can buy bigger, stronger reels that have stronger line on them.

Look on your reel and it may tell you the test it is meant to hold and how much line in can hold
