So, I got a ticket in Texas a couple months ago on my way out to Arizona. They eventually sent me a letter saying that if I didn't pay the fine, they would contact my dmv (in Florida) and have my license suspended. So I drove out to the Colorado City dmv and paid the ticket, when I asked about the DMV thing, they said they weren't even going to contact them for another couple of months, so I'm good.
A month later and I got pulled over for having a tag light out, and the cop was like "sir, do you know your license is suspended?"
So when I got pulled over in Texas my license was valid, but when I got back to Florida, it's not. So here's my question(s):
-What do I do about this? The cop gave me a citation for driving with a suspended license, but my license shouldn't be suspended! Do I pay it? Do I take it to court? If I get in touch with the dmv, would they be able to straighten it out?
-Secondly, I'm living in South Carolina now, and I dont want a drivers license up here, but I want to get a motorcycle license. Can my drivers license be suspended in Florida, but I still be able to have a motorcycle license up here?
Give me your insight! Thanks!
