Question about nail health. what should i do?

i think i have an ingrown toenail but how do i know for sure and what does "ingrown toenail" really mean?

An ingrown toenail is when your nail grows into your skin. Most people get them on their big toes on one side or both. (I'm a 17+ year cosmetologist)

You'll know if it's an ingrown toenail because it will hurt. The best way to get rid of them is to cut the nail back carefully with a toenail clipper. Be sure to cut the nail out of the side of your toe. Once it's removed you'll feel a lot less pressure and it won't hurt anymore. It may grow back that way so keep your eyes on it and cut it again as necessary.
